It’s Only a TV Show

14 August 2008

That’s my new mantra “It’s only a TV show… It’s only a TV show.”  I have to repeat it to myself over and over to prevent breaking out in tears on the ferry.  A few still do squeak by…
There is just too much good TV to keep up with these days, so often we find ourselves discovering [...]

That Was Fast

5 August 2008

When I postponed Jury Duty, I let them know I’d be available after September 1.  I recieved a new summons in the mail for September 3rd.  Yipee!!!  Keeping my fingers crossed and knocking on wood that I get a big case.

What Not To Do on Muni

25 July 2008

I’m no pro when it comes to riding Muni, the SF transit system.  My experience has largely been with taking a bus from the ferry to the DR office, and then another bus back to work.  In the mornings the ride isn’t so bad because I get on at the first stop and have my [...]

The Long Wait

3 July 2008

As you know, we’re embarking on our second IVF cycle.  Shots, blood draws, exams…. the works.  It’s impossible to plan anything because I never know when I’ll have a DR appointment.  It all depends on how my body responds to the meds.  And the DR is in San Francisco which isn’t exactly right down the street from my [...]

You Really Need a Reader

19 June 2008

I subscribe to feeds for 63 different news, blogs and entertainment sites.  The breakdown is as follows:
IVF blogs:  35 feeds
Reality News:  8 feeds
News News:  4 feeds
Friends and Family:  16 feeds
I would have to be crazy (or have way too much time on my hands) to go to 63 sites every day to check for updates.  [...]

My Broken Places

24 April 2008

The whole IVF process can be quite overwhelming at times.  My emotions can run high not just because of the hormones, but also because it’s a difficult journey.  Sometimes I get resentful of Drew because he doesn’t understand what I’m going through.  He’s very logical about the process.  I don’t think any man can understand [...]

The Relaxation

13 April 2008

After cleaning up the yard a few weeks back we realized we had a big bare spot in the back corner.  After staring at it for about a week I realized “What better place for a hammock?!”  I ended up ordering the Island Bay Executive XXL Rope Hammock from Hammocks.com.  It was billed as being big enough to hold [...]

Joining the 21st Century

12 April 2008

When we were visiting Drew’s grandparents in Oklahoma we found out that they communicate with some of their kids and grandkids via regular webcam calls.  I thought “What a great idea!”, so of course we started looking into it when we got home.  I told my dad about it, and he ordered a new webcam the same day.
Well, [...]

Stay Off the Grass

12 April 2008

Drew planned a very nice picnic today out at a vineyard in Napa.  He heard that the particular winery had a nice area to sit and eat lunch with lots of green grass where you could relax.  So we headed out and got some yummy sandwiches at the Oakville Grocery and off we went. Upon [...]
