Converted
27 July 2008The IVF cycle has been converted to an IUI cycle. My body just isn’t responding well to the Antagonist Protocol. The three follicles on the left weren’t growing at all. I have 4 on the right that are doing okay, and a few stragglers that probably wouldn’t make it to fruition. If we keep going with IVF we may end up with no eggs to fertilize, or eggs that don’t fertilize. We’re going to cut our losses and go with the IUI rather then just cancel in its entirety. Historically we have not done IUI’s because Drew’s count was too low to consider it, but a small chance is still better then no chance. Trigger hCG shot on Monday night and IUI on Wednesday.

Oh, that must feel so disappointing for you. It’s interesting how everyone responds differently to different protocols… well, I actually had the very same crappy response regardless of protocol. Anyway, I’m sorry about the change in plans. I wish you the very best of luck with the IUI!

Thanks. I was sure this cycle would have been different if only for the lack of Lupron. I was prepared for the cycle to not work - but not for it to be essentially cancelled. Then again, maybe the IUI will work. Either way, it was a rough weekend.

wow, aggravating. Money-wise, it is probably a smart move. One of my IVF “buddies” did get pregnant with a converted to IUI cycle, and mfi.
Good luck!!!

I’ve definitely read of it happening to people, but I’m not going to get my hopes up. Thanks for checking in!
