14 Tests and 2 Procedures
6 February 20088 vials of blood later I’m almost through with the medical pre-screening for IVF. The lab is running the following 14 tests:
Estradiol
HTLV I/II
FSH
HBsAg (Acute or Chronic)
HCV Antibody (Acute or Chronic)
HIV-2 & HIV-2 Antibody
Prolactin
RPR, Routine
Rubella Antibody IgG
Thyrotropin
Varicella IgG Ab
CBC with Platelets
ABD / RH and screen
Cystic Fibrosis
I’d be lying if I said I recognized more then 3-4 of them, but they’re a mandatory step in the process. Next week I’m getting a Hysterosonogram where they flush my uterus with saline and ultrasound it to look for any abnormalites. After that, it’s on to the annual pap smear. Then we keep our fingers crossed for a clean bill of health. We’re making progress.

Just think how clean and new your uterus will be after the saline wash… You should probably upgrade to the Ultimate Wash, which I think includes a hand wax. It will be like you just drove it off the lot!

Let me guess… you’re volunteering?

I only recognize half of those tests and I am going to school for this. Prolactin is the hormone that makes your breasts secrete milk!
You guys are killing me with the upgraded uterus wash. I laughed until I teared up.
