Fertility Dysfunction
3 July 2007We’ve come to the conclusion that IVF is probably our only chance of having children of our genetic makeup. Unfortunately, that decision comes at a price - or at least the procedure does. We’re talking $25-30k. Not exactly chump change.
For a variety of reasons, IVF is not something we can jump into right now. With the house on the market we could ‘theoretically’ move anytime. Buying a new house does not lend itself to taking out 30k in debt. And last, but certainly not least, I cannot take on more stress right now. IVF is very taxing on mind and body, and should not be done when our lives are in such a state of transition.
There is still a very small possibility that we’ll conceive naturally. It’s not completely out of the question, but not worth getting our hopes up. The time will come for IVF. Until then, we’ll keep trying.
