Goin’ Back to Colo
25 January 2007Doesn’t quite have the same ring as Cali, does it? Colo sounds more like a type of bronchial disease. Yeah, I had a bad case of the colo, with a touch of the virg last week…
It’s time to head back out and work out some additional details. We need to do our design consultation where we get to pick out our carpet, tile, hardwood and cabinets. I’m a little nervous about the whole thing because I don’t feel like we’re very good at decorating, but there will be a consultant there to make sure we don’t completely f* it up.
We also have a pre-construction meeting. I’m not really sure what is involved with it - all I know is that it will be the first of a handful of meetings we will have to attend throughout the home building process. Living in California makes these things that much more of a challenge - getting time off work combined with the expense of flights, hotels, car rentals and eating out are certainly obstacles that we have to overcome.
I’ve been so busy worrying about the state of my job, the loss of my gallbladder and trying to get the house ready to list, that Colorado has been pretty far off my radar. But it’s coming up quick and I’m hoping it will be more relaxing then the whirlwind that was our first trip. Colorado may be our home for the rest of our lives, and I’m excited to get a better feel for what it has to offer … which is hopefully not a bout with colo.

Someone I knew online only always said that about Puyallup, that it sounded like some horrible sickness, hehe. Have fun picking out the stuff, that’s very exciting! My friend said as stressful as it was, that was her fav part of having a house built, the little bits of you that get to go into it.
