1 November 2006I went in for my surgical consult last week and I’m off the hook for surgery. Since the original cyst is gone and nothing could be found on a mammogram or an ultrasound there is nothing to operate on. The surgeon spoke with the pathology department who concluded that the atypical cells have a 97% likelihood of being benign when there is no associated mass. He said that if there was any type of cancer it would still be growing and visible or palpable. It would not spontaneously go into remission. Good stuff.

Obviously it goes without saying that I’m happy that we found out you’re going to be with us for awhile longer.
Seriously, though, that was kind of scary…and as you posted about with John, that is apparently life. Scary things are just going to happen, but I’m glad that we dodged this bullet.
